Two online promotion events for the Future Global Leadership undergraduate courses (hereafter, FGL) were conducted on October 15, 2020 for reputable high schools in Vietnam and Indonesia, where many students apply for FGL every year. In the events “FGL Student Ambassadors,” who are current or graduated students from FGL, shared their experiences at Tohoku University, and also assisted the course explanation in the local language. A professor from each course explained details of the courses. This contrasts with previous on-site events, which were difficult for professors to attend.

These events were conducted as a part of the Tohoku University “Be Global Project” and more than 90 people participated during the events.

The event was organized by the TU-FTU (Foreign Trade University) Cooperation Office in Hanoi. Two highly ranked high schools were invited. In this event, not only current FGL students but also FGL alumni participated and described their great experiences at Tohoku University. Approximately 35 people joined the event and learned about the FGL course.

● SPK SMAK PENABUR KELAPA GADING High School　

A virtual education fair, “Brighter Future”, was organized by SPK SMAK PENABUR KELAPA GADING High School (event poster). Tohoku University gave two sessions and 58 people joined in total. In this event, FGL professors and an FGL student ambassador participated and shared his experience.


The “FGL Application Guide 2021” is already available. Tohoku University looks forward to receiving many applications from all over the world!
