Credit Recognition for Japanese Language Classes

All FGL students are required to take three Japanese Language classes during their first and second years; Basic Japanese Ⅰ, Basic Japanese Ⅱ, and Intermediate Japanese. However, students who passed the certain levels of JLPT or EJU can obtain credits for these classes without attending the classes.  If you already have a JLPT/EJU certificate and wish to apply for credit recognition, you should send a scanned copy of your score report of JLPT or EJU and inform the FGL Office by email (g30-kyom@grp.tohoku.ac.jp) and Google form which subjects you wish to obtain credits for. The application deadline is September 15. The FGL Office will give you further instructions after you enrolled in October.

*Those who hold Japanese nationality may be required to study a foreign language class instead of Japanese class. Please ask at each course orientation.
