On June 21, 2021, the Global Learning Center (GLC) at Tohoku University started the third phase of the Tohoku University Japanese Program (TUJP) Online for the 2021 Academic Year.

The third term of TUJP Online targets beginner level Japanese learners. The program term is four weeks long, finishing on July 16th, and has eleven participants from the U.S.A., China, Singapore, Netherlands, and Germany.

The participants will deepen their understanding of Japan through Japanese language lectures focusing on integrated communication skills, Japanese culture and society, and Project-Based Learning with Tohoku University students.

At the orientation on the first day, the students gave self-introductions, received guidance on studying, and learned about the “buddy system” provided by Tohoku University students. After the orientation, the participants enthusiastically took part in a Japanese course.
