The second term of TUJP Online is a three-week program that runs until February 2nd and targets students with intermediate to advanced Japanese language levels. In addition to improving practical Japanese language skills, it will also provide specialized courses that will help students feel closer to Tohoku University as a future study destination. 11 students from six universities in Germany, Korea, China, and Malaysia are participating.

During the orientation held on the afternoon of January 13, the first day of the program, the faculty member in charge explained the program's study plan and the students introduced themselves to each other.

Part of the second phase of TUJP Online was also opened to the “APRU Virtual Student Exchange Co-Curricular Program”, an online student exchange project promoted by the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU). APRU is an international inter-university consortium of which Tohoku University is a member. A total of 73 students from 12 universities in the U.S., Australia, Indonesia and other countries are scheduled to participate in the program.
