The Online Apartment Information Seminar for International Students, held on December 10(Thu), 2020, was aimed at international students who will be leaving student housing and renting apartments in Sendai for the first time.
It was conducted once in Japanese in the afternoon, and again in English in the evening. A total of 14 international students participated.
The seminar was held with cooperation from the Tohoku University Co-op housing staff. It explained the steps involved in renting, and what to be careful of when signing the lease. Questions, submitted in advance, were also covered.
The majority of the international students who participated indicated that they were able to obtain useful information on apartment-hunting.
The International Support Office plans to hold similar seminars in the future.
