The Online Apartment Information Seminar for International Students, held on July 8(Wed), 2020, was aimed at international students who will be leaving student housing and renting apartments in Sendai for the first time.
This was the first time for the seminar to be held online. It was held in Japanese in the afternoon, and again in English in the evening. A total of 15 international students participated.
The seminar was held with cooperation from the Tohoku University Co-op housing staff. It explained the steps involved in renting, and what to be careful of when signing the lease. Questions, submitted in advance, were also covered.
The majority of the international students seemed to understand the explanations and be happy to have their concerns addressed.
The International Support Office plans to hold similar seminars in the future.
