Program Fee

【TUJP Winter 2026–2027】
• Payment instructions will be sent to accepted applicants.
• A valid credit card is required for payment.
• We accept VISA, Mastercard, JCB, and American Express.
• Credit cards under a family member’s name are also accepted.
Program Fee - What's Included / Not Included
✅ Included in the Program Fee:
- Tuition for all classes
- Course materials (Textbooks)
- Student insurance (required by Tohoku University)
- Cultural activities and excursions organized by the program
- Certificate of completion
- Access to university facilities (Wi-Fi, library, etc.)
❌ Not Included in the Program Fee:
- Accommodation Fee
- Daily transportation costs
- Meals and personal living expenses
- Overseas travel insurance
- Airfare and travel to/from Japan
- Domestic transportation (Narita / Haneda Airport ⇄ Sendai )
- Visa application fees (if applicable)
Refund Policy
If you cancel after the decision has been made to hold TUJP, Tohoku University will not refund any fees you have paid.
If Tohoku University decides not to conduct TUJP after you have paid the program fees, you will receive a refund of all fees paid to Tohoku University, minus any applicable refund processing fees.
For refunds related to travel, accommodation, or any other arrangements you make independently for this program, please check the refund policies of the relevant service providers.
Accommodation & Living Expenses
Accommodation
Participants are responsible for arranging their own accommodation.
We recommend staying near Tohoku University Kawauchi Campus or within Sendai city.
If needed, the Tohoku University International Support Center can assist you with accommodation inquiries. Please contact them through the following website.
Further details will be provided after the acceptance letter is issued.

Scholarship
In-Person Program / Undergraduate Students Only
Qualified students may apply for a Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) scholarship of JPY 80,000.
⚠️ Important : Applicants for the JASSO scholarship must also submit an application for the program.
📝 How to Apply for the JASSO Scholarship
Step ①: Complete the Student Form
Students must complete the JASSO Application Student Form and submit it to the study abroad advisor or a faculty/staff member at their home university.
Step ②: Application Form (to be submitted by university staff)
The JASSO Application Form must be submitted to Tohoku University by a faculty/staff member or the study abroad office at the student's home university.
