Information on housing options for TUJP participants during their stay in Sendai.
Tohoku University does not provide or arrange housing for TUJP participants. All students are required to search for and book their own accommodation independently.
Below are some examples of off-campus accommodations frequently used by past TUJP participants. If you find a suitable place, please contact the facility directly to make your reservation as soon as your participation is confirmed.
🏢 Student Dormitories & Share Houses
Urban Castle Kawauchi
A private student dormitory. It is inexpensive and convenient, but please note that showers and toilets are shared, and the facilities are rather old.
Hitujifudousan (Share Houses in Sendai & Miyagi)
A major Japanese share house search website. *Please note that the website is in Japanese only. You may need to use browser translation tools (such as Google Translate) to navigate.

🏠 Estimated Homestay Cost (Tax Included)
・Homestay arrangement fee: JPY 19,800 per arrangement
・Homestay fee: JPY 4,950 per night
・Pick-up fee by the host family: JPY 2,200 per arrangement (Applicable if the host family picks up the student at the university on the first day)
Estimated Total (Example):
・17 nights (Winter 1): JPY 106,150
・15 nights (Winter 2): JPY 96,250
