First Online Meeting With Your Academic Advisor

Instructions for JYPE, COLABS, and DEEP Students

Purpose

Exchange students in the JYPE, DEEP, and COLABS programs should have a first online meeting with their academic advisor for the following reasons:

- To introduce yourself
- To learn about your academic advisor and laboratory
- To ensure your study field and research theme
- To discuss your study plan for the semester (i.e. study/research theme, elective courses)

Email title: “First Online Meeting Arrangement (Program / Your Name)”
Your email should include the following topics:
(1) Self-Introduction (including Applicant ID/Name/Program/Home University etc.)
(2) Availability Request for the online meeting arrangement
(3) First day to visit the lab; inform the expected date of your arrival on campus and ask them when the good day/time is to visit the lab for the first time.
