Theme: Passport to the World


We are thrilled to invite you to be part of one of Sendai’s most vibrant cultural festivals, the 37th Tohoku University International Festival (TUIF 2025)!

This year’s theme, “Passport to the World”, celebrates global exploration, cultural exchange, and the shared journeys of international friendship.

Take part in a festival that brings together students, families, and community members from around the world to share food, performances, and cultural activities.

Time: 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Venue: Tohoku University Centennial Hall (Kawauchi Hagi Hall)
What to Expect

10 International Food Stalls: Savor flavors from around the globe, prepared by students and cultural groups.
5 Interactive Cultural Corners: Enjoy games, workshops, and exhibitions that connect people through culture.
Stage Performances: Experience music, dance, and traditional showcases from around the world.

100 Volunteers Needed: Help us bring this unforgettable day to life!
How to Get Involved We are now accepting applications for:
● Food Stalls (2 available)
● Interactive Corners (5 available)
● Stage Performances (including dance, music, martial arts, and fashion show)
● Event Volunteers
Entry Ticket 1,500 yen (includes 3 food tickets)
Tickets will be available at the venue.

Details for Participants

Food Stall
● No initial funding provided; however you might get an incentive.
● Must prepare their own food and ingredients.
● Alcohol is not allowed.
● We encourage menus that reflect cultural identity.
● In case of cancellation, a compensation of up to ¥20,000 will be provided.

Interactive Corner
● Should feature games, crafts, language exchange, or cultural showcases.
● We provide tents, chairs, and tables.
● In case of cancellation, compensation of up to ¥10,000 is available.

Performers
● Fashion show: unlimited entries.
● Stage performances: limited to 20 groups.
● Performers are encouraged to wear ethnic costumes and showcase cultural performances.

Volunteers
● Assist with event setup (decorations, logistics, support booths).
● Help manage performances, welcome visitors, and maintain order.
● Must be comfortable communicating in Japanese or English.
● All volunteers will receive a TUIF 2025 commemorative T-shirt.
