An online event called　"Language Exchange" was held on February 21, 2022. This event was planned and organized by the Tohoku University STEM Student Network (TUSTEM).

The event was planned not only for international students related to Tohoku University, but also for overseas students, who are unable to enter the country due to the COVID-19 immigration restrictions, to provide interaction with domestic students. We called for participation widely on the University of Tsukuba's international student support website: JV-campus.

On the day of the event, 45 participants enjoyed self-introductions and a word guessing game "20Questions" in Japanese or English in the breakout rooms with 12 Tohoku University student facilitators. Seventy percent of the participants were from outside the university, indicating high levels of interest in Japan and studying in Japan, as well as high expectations for entering Japan.
