As part of the Tohoku University Be Global Project (Digital Global Education Program), in 2020 we started an online pre-enrollment education program, which enables a smooth start at the university, for in-coming FGL students from diverse educational background around the world.

The orientation of the program this year was held on June 22, and the prospective students from 10 countries as well as FGL professors met for the first time. This 8-week program covers a wide range of subjects, including STEM-related subjects (math, physics, chemistry, and biology) and Japanese necessary for daily life, as well as Japanese culture, Tohoku University, and student life.

This FGL pre-enrollment education program is mainly conducted with peer support from current FGL students and Japanese students from science and engineering programs under the supervision of FGL professors. It is a good opportunity for both new and current students to deepen their learning.
