Future Global Leadership (FGL) undergraduate courses provide online \"FGL Pre-Enrollment
\r\nEducation\" for new FGL students scheduled to enroll in October. From 2021, the program has been
\r\nimplemented as an official course (Study Abroad Program-Basic A) for which credits are awarded
\r\nafter enrollment.<\/p>\r\n
\r\n\u3000\u3000This year, on June 19, we held an orientation for the 23 students from 11 countries who will
\r\nenroll in October, as well as for faculty members and TAs currently enrolled in the FGL
\r\nundergraduate courses and science and engineering Japanese programs. In principle, the education
\r\nis held twice a week for 8 weeks until the first week of September. STEM classes (mathematics,
\r\nphysics, and chemistry) are designed with the high school-university connection in mind for those
\r\nentering the program after completing various education programs at high schools in different
\r\ncountries and areas. In addition to these STEM classes, students will learn the Japanese language
\r\nnecessary for daily life, the Japanese lifestyle and culture, Tohoku University, and student life.<\/p>\r\n
\r\n\u3000\u3000In a post-enrollment survey, this course has been well received by students as a unique
\r\ninitiative of the Tohoku University International Program, and a good cycle has been created in
\r\nwhich previous participants are involved in the training as teaching assistants to support
\r\nprospective students every year.
