{"id":59797,"date":"2022-07-25T10:44:39","date_gmt":"2022-07-25T01:44:39","guid":{"rendered":"\/english\/?p=59797"},"modified":"2023-02-17T17:55:45","modified_gmt":"2023-02-17T08:55:45","slug":"tujp-for-the-summer-of-2022-online-and-in-person","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"\/english\/activity\/59797\/","title":{"rendered":"TUJP for the summer of 2022 (online and in-person)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Tohoku University Global Learning Center (GLC) is implementing a\r\nshort-term student exchange program, the \"Tohoku University Japanese\r\nProgram (TUJP),\" during the summer of academic year 2022.\r\nFirst, a two-week online program was held from June 20 to July 1 for\r\nstudents with beginner-level Japanese language skills. A total of 11\r\nparticipants from universities in the U.S., China, Singapore, the\r\nNetherlands, and Germany took part in the program. Participants\r\ndeepened their understanding of Japan through lectures on Japanese\r\nculture, problem-solving classes with Tohoku University students, and\r\nextracurricular exchanges, in addition to Japanese language study with\r\nan emphasis on improving communication skills.<br \/><br \/>\r\n\r\nIn addition, from July 12 to August 8, we are conducting TUJP in person for the first time in three years. This year's program is being conducted as a special program, and 14 students from the National University of Singapore are participating. As part of the\r\nfestival-themed program, participating students made decorations for Tanabata (a traditional Sendai cultural event) and experienced the Suzume-odori (sparrow-dance).
