Scholarships for International Students Tohoku University International Excellence Scholarship<\/b>\r\n
\u2015A Seamless Support Framework from Undergraduate to Doctoral Education\u30fc<\/h1>\r\n

1\uff0eOverview<\/h2>\r\n
\r\nTohoku University will establish a new scholarship program, the Tohoku University International Excellence Scholarship<\/b>, beginning with students enrolling in the 2027 academic year.\r\nThe scholarship program will provide focused financial support to outstanding international students enrolled in undergraduate programs, master's programs, and professional degree programs.\r\n
\r\nRecipients will be selected based on entrance examination results or academic performance after enrollment, together with other relevant criteria.<\/b>\r\nThe University expects to support approximately the top one-third of eligible students<\/b> in each program. At the undergraduate level, international students admitted to Gateway College will also be eligible for support. Gateway College is scheduled to launch in 2027.\r\n \r\n

2\uff0eConnection to Doctoral Support<\/h2>\r\n
\r\nTohoku University launched the LEAP Comprehensive Support Package for doctoral education in the 2026 academic year. By connecting the International Excellence Scholarship\u2019s support for undergraduate and master's-level programs to support under the LEAP Program for doctoral students, the University will establish a seamless support framework from undergraduate to doctoral education.\r\n \r\n
