They are in charge of the International Student Help Desk and also assist guests from abroad.\r\n            <\/p>\r\n            <nav class=\"links\">\r\n            <a href=\"https:\/\/www.insc.tohoku.ac.jp\/english\/support\/international-student-help-desk\/\" class=\"link window\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\r\n                International Student Help Desk\r\n            <\/a>\r\n            <\/nav>\r\n        <\/div>\r\n        <div class=\"photo\">\r\n            <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/japanese\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/extracurricular_01.jpg\">\r\n        <\/div>\r\n        <\/div>\r\n    <\/div>\r\n<\/section>\r\n\r\n<section class=\"contents\" id=\"02\">\r\n    <div class=\"wrap\">\r\n        <h2 class=\"headline_huge\">Tutors<\/h2>\r\n        <div class=\"block\">\r\n        <div class=\"description\">\r\n            <h3 class=\"title\">About Tutors<\/h3>\r\n            <p class=\"mb-tiny-double-double\">\r\n                To help new international students adjust to their environment as quickly as possible, students from the university act as tutors and provide support for school and daily life.<br>\r\nTutors are appointed each semester by the head of the host department.<br>\r\nThey are paid for up to 48 hours of work per semester. They handle important activities with commensurate responsibilities.\r\nBy helping international students with school life, tutors themselves naturally learn about the language, lifestyle, and culture of other countries and Japan.  Some students become interested in studying abroad after participating in tutoring activities. The activities vary depending on the status of the international student, their Japanese language ability, and their laboratory.<br><br>\r\n \r\nUsually, graduate\/undergraduate students in the same laboratory as the international student are appointed as tutors, but some faculties and graduate schools also accept applications.\r\nIf you are interested in this program, please confirm the application period and selection process at the relevant section in your department.<br>\r\nTutors for the International Program in Liberal Arts (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.insc.tohoku.ac.jp\/english\/exchange\/ipla\/\" style=\"color:#0000ff;\">IPLA<span style=\"position: relative;width: 100%;block;text-decoration:none;padding:12px 0;margin-left:8px;background: url(\/assets\/images\/icon-window.png) right center no-repeat; background-size:80%;\">\u3000<\/span><\/a>) are also available at the Global Learning Center.\r\n            <\/p>\r\n            <h3 class=\"title\">Tutor Guidance<\/h3>\r\n            <p>\r\n                Tutor Guidance is available on Google Classroom. The guidance consists of a video explaining the tutoring system and tutoring activities, stories from former tutors, a comprehension test, and other useful materials for tutoring activities.\r\nNew tutors are required to take this course. Those who are interested in becoming a tutor and those who are interested in tutoring are also welcome to take this course. TUJP Buddy<\/h3>\r\n            <p class=\"mb-tiny-double-double\">Interact freely with program participants in small one-on-one or two-on-one groups outside of class (assist with Japanese language\/cultural study, answer questions, and provide consultations, etc.).<br>\r\n                Activities are scheduled for approximately 2 hours per week during the program.<\/p>\r\n            <h3 class=\"headline_large\">2. Intercultural Collaborative Learning Class Partners<\/h3>\r\n            <p class=\"mb-tiny-double-double\">Partners will engage in intercultural collaborative learning activities, such as group work and discussions, with the program participants. Depending on the content of the program, Partners may participate in PBL done mostly in English, or discussions conducted mainly in easy Japanese.<\/p>\r\n            <h3 class=\"headline_large\">3. While the main activity focuses in eating and cooking Indian curry together, we also place importance on learning about Indian culture, such as experiencing Indian-style yoga.
