Cash (About JPY 6,000)<\/p>\r\n<p>5. <a href=\"https:\/\/sup.bureau.tohoku.ac.jp\/en\/after-arrival-e\/mynumber-e\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Social Security and Tax Number Notification Card<\/a> (card with your 12-digit \u201cMy Number\u201d)<\/p>\r\n<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n<\/tbody>\r\n<!-- \/.table01 --><\/table>\r\n<p><b><\/b><\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p>Refer to the link below for details of procedures at the Aoba Ward Office.<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"mt20\"><a class=\"linkBarArrow\" href=\"https:\/\/sup.bureau.tohoku.ac.jp\/en\/life-e\/leaving-e\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Leaving Japan<\/a><\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<h3 class=\"hd3_01 mt40\">Payment of National Health Insurance Premiums for the Last Month of Your Stay<\/h3>\r\n<p>If your premiums are automatically deducted from your bank account each month, please follow the procedure at the ward office. If you are leaving Japan in February and are paying premiums monthly at a convenience store or bank, you should pay the bill of the 8th payment (=\u7b2c8\u671f). Do not pay the bill of the 9th payment (=\u7b2c9\u671f) .When you go to the ward office before returning country, <u>please bring about 6,000 yen in cash<\/u> as you may be charged for February. In such cases, please follow the instructions at the ward office. Note that if you return to your country without paying the last premium, you may get in trouble the next time you enter Japan. See <a href=\"https:\/\/sup.bureau.tohoku.ac.jp\/en\/life-e\/leaving-e\/#Other_procedures\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this page<\/a> for more details.<\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<h3 class=\"hd3_01\" id=\"sed\"><!-- .hd3_01 -->REPORT OF YOUR RETURN FLIGHT<!-- .hd3_01 --><\/h3>\r\n<p>Please report your departure information to the university through the below form.<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"mt20\"><a class=\"linkBarArrow\" href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/HFXo7JdZ7Ut7NrYf9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Report of Return Flight<\/a><\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<h3 class=\"hd3_01\" id=\"dept\"><!-- .hd3_01 -->DEPARTMENT, LABORATORY, LIBRARY, etc.<!-- .hd3_01 --><\/h3>\r\n<p>\u25cf Report your departure date to your academic advisor once it is fixed and ask for any additional documents required for your department<br \/>\r\n\u3000 when leaving.<br \/>\r\n\u25cf Return all borrowed items such as room keys and books to the appropriate places.<br \/>\r\n\u25cf IPLA students should return their student ID cards and library cards to the Incoming Student Exchange Section (6-C) of the Student Exchange Division. If you forget to return them, there is no need to post them to the Student Exchange Division. In that case, please dispose of them at your own responsibility. As these items contain personal information, please handle them with extreme care. For the Spring Semester, exchange students are registered as students at Tohoku University until September 30 (IPLA: August 31), and for the Fall Semester until March 31 <span>(IPLA: February 28)<\/span>. Note that it is illegal to continue staying in Japan under a student visa after those dates even if the residence card is still valid. In most cases, students participating in the Spring semester are permitted to stay in the dormitories until August 31, and students participating in the Fall semester until February 28.\u00a0 A student visa requires a minimum of 10 hours of class time per week.\u00a0 Legally speaking, staying on a student visa until the end of the enrolment period is not a problem, however, it is not recommended because of liability issues in case of accidents or incidents while travelling. This applies only to JYPE and COLABS students. After grades are released, the JLPK office will send an email notification. Following the instructions in the email will allow access to the grade information.<\/p>\r\n<p>\u25cf Tohoku University Google account will be disabled approximately one month after the program completion. (The Fall semester ends at the end of March, and the Spring semester ends at the end of September.)
