Students who have attained adequate Japanese proficiency may take advanced Japanese language classes or regular classes with Japanese students.<\/span><br \/>\r\n<span>Cultural and intellectual exchange with Japanese students is an important part of the program and is achieved through group activities and interaction with local Japanese students, both in classes and in extracurricular activities.<\/span><br \/>\r\n<span>Course credits may be transferred to the student's home institution in accordance with the student exchange agreement.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<div class=\"tmpBox right\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-879\" alt=\"E12_introduction_p600\u00d7450\" src=\"\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/d920458ae64ff04645879ff788c04d341-e1447751701979.jpg\" \/><\/div>\r\n<!-- \/.twoColumnBeforeImg --><\/div>\r\n<h2 class=\"hd2_01\" id=\"ank02\">Curriculum<\/h2>\r\n<p><span>IPLA offers comprehensive curriculum where students can choose classes across disciplines in Liberal Arts and Social Sciences.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p>After taking the Japanese Placement Test* to measure Japanese language proficiency, IPLA participants register for compulsory and elective subjects that match their level as described below. Participants must earn\u00a015 credits per term.<\/p>\r\n<p><b>Course information for the upcoming semesters will generally be available right before the semester starts.<\/b> (Spring semester-at the end of March, Fall semester- at the end of September) If you need them for making the academic plan while participating in the IPLA program, please refer to the past semester's course information for your reference.
