Course Description"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"lnav01_4\"><!-- .lnav01_4 -->\r\n<ul>\r\n        <li><a href=\"#ank01\">Core Course<\/a><\/li>\r\n        <li><a href=\"#ank02\">Elective Courses<\/a><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<!-- \/.lnav01_4 --><\/div>\r\n<h2 class=\"hd2_01\" id=\"ank01\"><!-- .hd2_01 -->Core Course<!-- \/.hd2_01 --><\/h2>\r\n<p>Courses and course descriptions are subject to modification.<\/p>\r\n<h3 class=\"hd3_01 mt40\">Individual Research Training (IRT)<\/h3>\r\n<p>Students in this program are required to enroll in <strong>Individual Research Training (IRT)<\/strong> course each semester, which is the core course of this program.<\/p>\r\n<p>In the senior year, regular degree candidates are assigned to research groups to participate in their activities and to carry out their undergraduate thesis work. <\/p>\r\n<p>Though short-term international exchange students are not degree candidates at Tohoku University, a similar experience* is offered by special arrangement.<\/p>\r\n<p>Students do research on a current topic that is related to their field of studies, with the support of research groups to which they are assigned.<\/p>\r\n<p>The research group, called the Laboratory, to which a student is assigned, becomes his\/her home base in the university life. Participation in research activities by belonging to a specific Laboratory is a very important part of his\/her undergraduate experience. The student has finished the necessary courses for graduation and obtained excellent grades.<\/p>\r\n<p> 2. The student\u2019s academic advisor judges the student to have sufficient ability to take and understand graduate-level classes.<\/p>\r\n<p> 3. The student has a strong desire to undergo research training (IRT Senior A\/B).<\/p>\r\n<p> 4. The student will obtain 3 or more Tohoku University credits in subjects other than research training (IRT Senior A\/B), and will be able to complete* the JYPE program (*total 13 or more\/per semester) .<\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p>IRT Senior A\/B Students are required to submit:<\/p>\r\n<p> 1. an abstract concerning the results of their IRT Senior A\/B project,<\/p>\r\n<p> 2. a paper (A4, 20-30 pages) on their research at the end of the exchange term, and<\/p>\r\n<p> 3. a presentation on the results of their IRT Senior A\/B project near the end of each semester.<\/p>\r\n<p>[<a the supervising faculty member, although the students are not required to complete an undergraduate thesis. <\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p>IRT A\/B Students are required to submit:<\/p>\r\n<p> 1. an
