Whether attending classes online, staying away from campus, or refraining from extracurricular activities, Tohoku University students and staff have had to limit their daily lives in various ways due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Not just Japan, but the entire world is facing an unprecedented situation, leaving many people feeling anxious about the future.

Therefore, the Global Learning Center has started the "COVID-19 Infection Prevention Campaign" to cheer up the Tohoku University community and encourage its members in their efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19.

As a first step, we are pleased to announce a contest, open to the entire community (students and staff), to create a slogan for this campaign.

We are looking for a slogan that will help people get through the current situation imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, for example by:

  • raising awareness of best practices for preventing the spread of the virus
  • giving Tohoku University students, international students, and staff a sense of unity, even if they cannot come to campus
  • shining a positive light on daily life under various constraints

  • The top slogans will be posted on the Global Learning Center website and the winning entry will be used in various promotional materials (posters, images etc.) for the campaign. We look forward to seeing your diverse ideas for cheering up the community.
